A special room for our special ones. . . .
Love . . .
Since February is often known as the month of “Love” I wanted to share one of the things I love the most in the whole-wide-world. . . being a “Nana.”
It is truly a whole different type of love. It’s an immediate, deep, give-your-life-for-them kind of love – and it happens at first sight!
I see some of you rolling your eyes, and to be honest, I did that too. . . . before I became a Nana. It’s a kind of love you can’t even imagine, until it happens. And then, it’s the amazing kind of love that just overwhelms your heart.
I also love thrifting! It’s like finding little “pearls” every time I go on a thrifting adventure.
Today I want to share some thrifting finds that were transformed for my girls with a little bit of paint.
When the girls are hanging out with us I wanted them to have a place that was bright, playful and fun, yet peaceful and comforting; a place that was “theirs.” So as we set about to design their room I asked what color they would like to see in their room and got “lots of pink” as a reply.
So I decided to surprise them with “Pink” beds. The beds were really
rough, but a quick sanding, priming and painting really changed the look of
them. I truly love these two thrift store bed frame finds.
What do you think?
Would you paint beds Pink?
I didn’t want the same pink on both beds but wanted something that would blend well.
I also love the curvy detail on the twin bed.
And finding a gray nightstand to place between the beds, with a similar curvy style, was a great addition.
Decorating their room has been such a fun experience. Adding some other “pink” touches was fun too. I love leaving them quotes and messages, so we added a message board to their wall. I try to make sure a different message is there each time they visit. The DIY letters were originally black, but I used some of the same spray paint to make them pink.
A heart shaped dish, filled with Valentine’s candy and some flowers added to the small changes that can make a difference and show love.
And in the name of “love and pink”, I love this combination blow dryer and volumizer by Revlon. And. . . as added bonus it’s now on sale through Amazon.
